EMDR – Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing

EMDR – Brain-Based Therapy

Patients talk about how EMDR has worked for them.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a widely used and powerful method of treating anxiety symptoms related to trauma and significant life upset. This treatment is helpful for both adults and children. At Lifespan Counseling Center we keep up-to-date on the state of the art in this highly effective therapeutic technique.

EMDR is the most researched therapeutic modality in the United States and it is recognized by the American Psychiatric Association, the American Psychological Association and is an approved treatment for trauma by the United States Army, as well as other military forces throughout the world.

Of all the therapies we use, EMDR and related brain-body techniques seem to get the most quick and dramatic results. This isn’t to say that it works with everyone and that it is a “magic cure” because it’s not. However, we use it often because it works so well!
